|Motor||Bafang 500 W Hub Brushless Motor|
|Battery||48V*10.4 A Lithium Cell Batteries|
|Frame||6061 Aluminum Alloy|
|Tires||Kenda 26” * 4” Fat Tires|
|Brakes||Tektro Auriga Hydraulic Disc Brakes|
Let’s take a look at what these impressive values bring to the table.
A 6061 aluminum alloy frame assembles the Motan, with its downward-slanting curved top tube. During your ride on the most challenging trails you’ll get a lot of help by the one-of-a-kind design, which also offers comfort in the resting position with your feet on the ground. The strong suspension forks and trustworthy braking system support the frame.
With its quick release seat post which is 30cm, the Motan is suitable for riders between 5’6”-6’8”. You’ll have your comfort while riding. Still note that some riders stated that the Motan is pretty heavy, and it can be for smaller riders to move the e-bike without pedal assist in case your battery dies in the middle of a challenging trail.
A sturdy Bafang brushless motor of 500W powers the Motan, from the rear hub. Although the motor offers to produce 500 continuous watts, it can produce as high as 750 watts, making the Motan one of the most powerful e-bikes available out there. The motor is also capable of taking you to a top speed of 23mph, which is perfect in climbing hilly terrains effortlessly, also with the help of great torque it generates.
The weighing riders won’t get much trouble being moved by the Motan as the motor can support the e-bike with a weight up to 350lbs.
The Tektro Auriga hydraulic disc braking system with 180mm rotors in the front and back comes with great power in braking. You’ll have full control even under wet or muddy conditions. You can adjust the brake levers which also feature motor inhibitors to immediately cut off motor power as you press the levers. Braking efficiency guaranteed.
A 48V 10.4 Ah lithium battery supports the motor with its impressive range of 35 to 45 miles with pedal assist. Enough to make you enjoy your adventure for a long time. The battery is located on the downtube, offering good weight balancing. You can also remove the battery to charge or store.
The pedal assistance sensor is also something worth mentioning. The torque on the cranks and rotations are measured to stop or start the motor power according to the pedaling of the rider. Besides it’s perfect to achieve power efficiency, it also keeps you moving when you’re on the bike.
The handlebars feature a Bafang display right in the middle to allow monitoring the road during the ride. You can track distance, speed, wattag, battery life, etc.
A feature that we think is missing is the backlight, which might be helpful in increasing visibility and therefore safety.
Another downside is that it is a very challenging task to assemble the Motan, which might require a professional technician to put together for the first time.
